eQ’s private equity investment strategy is to invest in small / mid-sized buyout funds in Northern Europe and North America. Typically the funds we invest in acquire majority positions in target companies together with the entrepreneur or management.

Our strategy is both to make primary investments, to acquire fund positions in the secondary market and to do co-investments alongside our portfolio funds. Our fund-of-funds invest predominantly in Northern European and North-American funds with fund size 50 - 500 million euros / 100- 1.000 million dollars. In our separate account portfolios, we invest in medium-sized European buyout funds with fund size 500 – 3,000 million euros. For North American private equity, we are advised by our strategic partner RCP Advisors. We are also actively following the Asian, South American and African private equity markets.

Alongside buyout funds, we are actively screening the market development in private credit and other private equity asset classes.

In the venture capital market we invest in leading seed, early and late stage US venture capital funds. The portfolio funds invest in fast-growing start-up companies in the technology sector. For US venture capital, we are advised by our strategic partner TrueBridge Capital Partners.
